Day 8 of Training Camp is in the books for the Browns as there were multiple NFL stars in the house. Here are my notes from the day.
-Trent Richardson missed practice today after getting kicked in his shin on Thursday. Richardson said that he is fine and “no kick is going to slow me down.” Richardson, who has looked great so far through camp, said that his goal is to play in EVERY game this season.
-Former team President Mike Holmgren was at camp today for a quick minute as he stopped by to say hello to Jim Haslam and Joe Banner. Holmgren is in town to see Bill Parcells and Warren Sapp enter into the Hall of Fame this weekend.
-Also in attendance today was maybe the most popular referee in the league in muscle bound Ed Hochuli. Also the leagues executive director of the NFLPA DeMaurice Smith watched practice as well.
-WR Greg Little has started a new trend as during special team’s portions of practice he goes with the defensive lineman and works on hand drills to ward off cornerbacks. It’s entertaining to watch Little amongst the biggest men on the team go through there drills but it also shows a growth in Little wanting to do any little thing to be better.
-Alex Mack and Phil Taylor have had an interesting week as both have shoved and pushed one another a few times after the whistle this week after plays. DL Coach Joe Cullen even had to scream at Taylor today that it was enough! After practice Taylor said “it’s just football practice.”
-Family Night is Saturday night with the gates opening at 5:30 and practice starting at 6:30 til 9. There will be fireworks and a laser show afterwards.
