Day 2 of Browns Training Camp took place on another beautiful sun filled day in Berea; here are the notes from the day.
-After the offense shined one day one, it was absolutely a defensive day on Friday as the defense had interceptions left and right.
-The first big interception came from Joe Haden who jumped an out route and picked off Brandon Weeden and despite fumbling the ball near the goal line the play set the pace for the rest of practice.
-Following that interception the other guys that got into the fray where Buster Skrine, Chris Owens, and Trevin Wade.
-This isn’t an attack on the offense as the defense is usually ahead of the offense early in camp.
-Defensive tackle Phil Taylor missed another practice with his calf injury, but I watch him go through drills with a trainer and he looked explosive and moved well so I’d guess his time on the side will not last very long.
-Wide Receiver David Nelson made his first appearance of camp as he has been cleared after suffering an ACL injury last season while he played for the Buffalo Bills.
-Josh Gordon came through practice well after missing the last 25 minutes of Thursday s practice with a lower leg cramp.
-The players are extremely hyped up as Saturday will be the first day in pads. Coach Chudzinski is excited to see the guys upfront cut loose a bit and finish off plays.
