(Cleveland) - The shores of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Waterfowl Lake are in the midst of a prehistoric transformation.
Newsradio WTAM 1100's Darren Toms got to see some of the prep work that goes into making Dinosaurs!, the Zoo’s new seasonal exhibit, come to life.
A large crane was used to move the 6,700 pound animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex into position.
It's one of 21 dinosaur displays that will be lurking around the lake at the Zoo when the exhibit opens. Seven have never been displayed at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo before.
Another new feature will be a giant "Base Camp". It'll be a large tent representing an active dig site with fossils and a giant footprint to stand in.
Dinosaurs! will be open daily from May 9 through September 15.
