(Cleveland) – Cuyahoga County has opened its new headquarters in the old Ameritrust complex.

Up next, is the opening of "The 9", which will feature luxury apartments, a hotel, and a new Heinen's grocery store in the former bank building. Geis Companies is expected to complete construction in August.

Co-owner Greg Geis tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, "The 9" will be something downtown Cleveland has never seen before, and will attract CEO's and their businesses to the central city, transforming the East 9th and Euclid neighborhood.

He explains, his company has invested over $200 million in the long abandoned Amertrust complex and the surrounding area.

Geis says much of the work on “The 9” is already done, and demand for the new apartments is very strong.
