(Knoxville, TN) - More heads are rolling at Pilot Flying J in Knoxville, TN. Three top executives have reportedly been terminated in the wake of a fuel rebate scandal where trucking companies were shortchanged by the company owned by Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam.
Executives Ron Carter, Jon Sigurdson and Kevin Hanscomb were terminated by Pilot Flying J Monday as was the company's president, Mark Hazlewood. Haslam has claimed he had no knowledge of the rebate scam.
Ten former Pilot Flying J employees have already pleaded guilty to their roles in the case. Reported Josh Flory with the Knoxville News Sentinel tells Newsradio TAM 1100 it's unclear as to whether the trio of executives fire could be indicted.
For that matter, Flory says it remains unclear as to whether Haslam could be indicted. Pilot Flying J's Knoxville-based headquarters were raided in April, 2013 by FBI and IRS agents.
