Review: 'Fix'

Art imitates life in a road tripper that breaks new ground.

Stylish could be the last name of this comedy about a filmmaker shooting his 24 hour road trip as he and his girlfriend rush to get his brother in rehab by a judge’s deadline or have his brother hauled off to prison for 3 years. Oh yeah- they also have to raise 5-grand in 24 hours to pay for the rehab.

What makes this film truly unique is it’s based on the real life story of the brother of filmmaker Tao Ruspoli, who happens to be married to Olivia Wilde the sexiest woman alive, as decreed by “Maxim” magazine. Ruspoli and Wilde play an unmarried version of themselves with “Dazed and Confused” star Shawn Andrews as the drug-addled, lovable brother. Ruspoli is buried behind his camera the whole movie. Wilde is de-glammed but still gorgeous. Funny, fast-paced, gritty, unpredictable and unique. You won’t see another one like this in 2009. It mixes documentary with comedy: a docu-comedy is born!!!!
