Three children on the ground were among those who died as a result of the plane crash in Gearhart, Oregon.
A small plane crashed into a vacation home in the coastal community of Gearhart, Or., killing two adults and three children on the ground.
The incident happened at 6:37 a.m. Monday morning when the four-seat Cessna 172 hit the ground and a tree before slamming into the home. It then exploded approximately 20 seconds after hitting the home.
Six people were inside the vacation rental at the time. A woman and two other children were injured and transported to a hospital.
The pilot has been identified as Jason Ketchson of Clatsop County. His passenger Frank Toohey, as well as children Julia Reinmann, Hesam Farrar Masoudi and Grace Massoudi are the others confirmed dead. Gearhart is approximately 85 miles west of Portland.
