(Hartsgrove Township) - Police are investigating a horrific traffic accident in a rural part of Ashtabula County.
Seven-year-old Myron Miller was killed and three of his relatives were life-flighted to Cleveland after a van plowed into their buggy. The Amish children were on their way to school.
Lt. Mike Harmon of the Ashtabula County post of the Highway Patrol says the other kids are 9-year-old Nathaniel Miller (critical condition at MetroHealth), 11-year-old Marlin Miller and 13-year-old Aden Miller (stable condition at Rainbow Babies).
The crash took place Thursday morning at the intersection of Meade Hollow and Mechanicsville Roads in Hartsgrove Township.

The van's driver, 23-year-old Gary Roth, tells the Highway Patrol he was blinded by sun glare and missed the stop sign. He traveled through the "T" intersection, slammed into the buggy and continued on into the woods.

The driver was not hurt, and voluntarily submitted to drug and alcohol testing.
Newsradio WTAM 1100 reporter Pat Butler flew over the scene, and says the buggy was practically destroyed. He could only see the wheels and an axle remaining.

Pat says members of the Amish community gathered at the scene to console each other.
