(Cleveland) – Fifty-nine year old Lawrence Cermak pleaded guilty to stealing $330,000 from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church over a 6 year period.
The Garfield Heights bookkeeper could get 5 years in prison when he's sentenced.
Investigators report Cermak had been in charge of the books at the Turney Road house of worship since 2002. Prosecutors say a new pastor found 69 checks that didn't look right and alerted authorities.
