(Cleveland)- The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center is holding a community forum Tuesday for those affected directly or indirectly by the Anthony Sowell case. It starts at 6pm at the Cleveland Public Library's Mt. Pleasant branch on Kinsman Road.
Executive Director Megan O’Bryan says, when there are high profile cases that get a lot of media attention it can be retraumatizing for all survivors of rape. The forum provides people with a space where they can get help, information, and support.
There have been rumors that the 11 women found dead at Sowell's Imperial Avenue home were there for drugs and booze. O’Bryan says, we need to stop putting any of the blame on the victims. We need to shift our focus away from the women and onto suspected serial killer Anthony Sowell.
If you need help, the crisis center has a 24 hour hotline (216) 619-6192.
