(Akron) - Summit County sheriff’s deputies got more than they bargained for Saturday.
Around 9:00A.M., deputies responded to the G+L Motel on Massillon Road in Green for reports of a naked man walking in the parking lot and bothering the clerk. When they arrived, her appeared to be high on something.
55-year-old Lavurenes Walker of Canton was arrested in the parking lot without incident. Deputies returned with Walker to his room at the motel to allow him to put clothes on. But inside the room, Walker grabbed a plastic baggie of cocaine and began eating it in an attempt to destroy it.
Cottle says Walker was transported to St. Thomas Hospital for evaluation and later charged with Tampering with Evidence and Public Indecency.
He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
There was a woman in the room, described as a "pay by the hour" locale, but Sgt. Scott Cottle says she was not charged with a crime.
