(Cleveland) – The city is once again hosting the Breast Cancer 3-day, 60-mile walk to raise funds to fight the disease.

Opening ceremonies were held this morning next to Cleveland Browns Stadium, with hundreds of walkers embarking on their trek.

Some say they are walking in memory of a friend or family member, others just to support the cause. Along the way volunteers have set up break stops, and water stations as they cheer the walkers onward.



The event wraps up with closing ceremonies Sunday afternoon at the Berea Fairgrounds.

Fifteen cities are hosting similar events which benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Last year, walks raised $100 million. Since the walks began in 2003, $400 million has been collected for breast cancer research.
