(CLEVELAND) Ron Sweed, Cleveland late night television horror show host "The Ghoul," has suffered a massive heart attack according to friends and will undergo triple bypass surgery.

The 69-year-old assumed the character of The Ghoul after Ernie Anderson, Cleveland's Ghoulardi, invited him up on stage at an event in 1963 when the 13-year-old showed up in a gorilla suit. He eventually became a production assistant for the WJW show and, with Ernie Anderson's blessing, started hosting his own show in 1970 on Channel 61 after Anderson left for California a few years earlier.
