Mayor Frank Jackson's Grandson Booked into Cuyahoga County Jail

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson's grandson was booked into the Cuyahoga County Jail Thursday night after authorities issued a warrant for his arrest the same day. On Wednesday, 22-year-old Frank Q. Jackson was indicted on charges of allegedly beating his 18 year old girlfriend.

Jackson faces felony charges of assault, abduction and failure to comply. The indictment comes nearly four months after the alleged incident.

Jackson’s girlfriend accused him of choking and beating her with a metal object. CMHA reports indicate that city prosecutors did not pursue charges against the mayor’s grandson because the victim did not want to press charges at the time.

Frank Q. Jackson is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 18.
