Cuyahoga County Extends Property Tax Deadline

(Cleveland) - The property tax payment deadline in Cuyahoga County has been extended by one week, and the blame is being put on the U.S. Postal Service.

County Treasurer W. Christopher Murray II said that the county is concerned that the postal service will not deliver the tax tills to property owners in a timely manner, so the deadline is being extended from January 21, to January 28, 2021.

Murray says you can see and pay your tax bill online. It can be paid by mail, by phone, or through the drop box next to the front entrance of the County Administration Building at the corner of East 9th and Prospect.

To pay by phone, call 1-800-272-9829, and use a credit or debit card. If anyone is having a problem in making payment, they can call the County Treasurer at 216-443-7420 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The county also has information online about alternative ways to pay.
