Flight Landing At Hopkins Suddenly Doesn't Land

(Cleveland) - On Tuesday, a Frontier Airlines flight landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport suddenly what the airline industry calls a "go-around," where, within seconds of landing, the pilot revved up the engines, took the aircraft up about 3.000 more feet, turned around, and landed safely. This, because an airport vehicle was on the runway.

Aviation expert Jay Ratliff told our Bill Wills that a vehicle on the runway can be a problem, as the aircraft has to avoid the vehicle.due to the possibility of hitting it.

Ratliff says passengers were obviously concerned, as they were expecting the aircraft's wheels to touch the ground, and then suddenly, the engines are revved up, and the plane gains altitude. According to Ratliff, the flight crew handled the situation perfectly.
