Man Wanted in Carjackings and Armed Robberies Arrested by US Marshal

Cleveland, Ohio– This morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) found arrested 19-year-old, Andre Lovett. Lovett was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department on a 16-count indictment.

It is alleged that from October 4 through November 15, Lovett was involved in multiple incidents across Cuyahoga County, including three aggravated robberies, two kidnappings, four robberies, an aggravated burglary, a felonious assault, and numerous grand thefts. In multiple incidents, Lovett is accused of carjacking Cuyahoga County citizens at gunpoint. In one incident, Lovett held a family inside their home at gunpoint and then proceeded to rob them.

This morning, members of the Cleveland NOVFTF arrested Lovett near the 1800 block of Wymore Street in Cleveland. Upon arrival at the address, task force members knocked and announced, and at that time, Lovett jumped out of a second-story bedroom window and fled on foot. Lovett led task force members on a several-block foot chase until he was tracked down and arrested. During the foot pursuit, one of the task force members suffered a serious but non-life-threatening injury that required medical attention. The officer is expected to undergo surgery today to address the damage.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The days of this fugitive terrorizing citizens of Cuyahoga County is over today. Outstanding investigative work by the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office and our task force resulted in this violent fugitive being arrested.”
