Berlin residents have been warned to stay indoors after a loose lion was reported in the city.

Police first issued the warning shortly after midnight on Thursday after a pair of residents saw what they believed to be a lioness chasing a wild boar down a street in Kleinmachnow, according to Mayor Michael Grubert. Two police officers later saw the animal making its way through Brandenburg, spokesperson Kerstin Schroeder says. The warning was then extended to Berlin’s suburbs.

Although authorities launched a massive search that involved 100 police officers, volunteer hunters, drones, helicopters, and thermal-imaging cameras, the lioness was still on the loose as of late Thursday afternoon, Grubert says. He’s telling residents this isn’t the time “to go jogging in the woods.”
