Principal Apologizes To Student He Stripped Scholarship From For Dancing

The principal of a Louisiana high school who punished a student for dancing at a party has requested to take a leave of absence.

Jason St. Pierre recently took away the senior's scholarship after she was seen on a video dancing at an off-campus party.

He also questioned the student's religious convictions and moral character.

St. Pierre's actions triggered outrage from the community who felt the Walker High School principal overstepped his authority.

He has since issued a public apology to the student, who also had her scholarship endorsement reinstated.

The scholarship deadline was October 3rd, so the girl’s mom said it’s now worthless.

She added that had St. Pierre listened to her the morning after the party, none of this would have happened.
