The Cavs failed to execute basic fundamentals late in the game Saturday against the Knicks and it cost them the game as they lost 107-97.

Anderson Varejao returned, but played only nine minutes and it cost the Cavs on the boards as the Knicks won the battle in the paint 49-37. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 26 points and JR Smith nailed five 3 pointers to keep the Cavs at a safe distance the entire fourth quarter.

The Cavs continued their poor offensive play late in games scoring only 21 points. Kyrie Irving led the Cavs with 30 points and Spencer Hawes added 21 points and 10 rebounds. The Cavs start a west coast trip Wednesday in Phoenix.
