The day after in Berea has not been a happy place with the Browns now 0-5. The most positive thing this Monday had to be appearance of Joe Haden. Here are a few notes from the quiet day in Berea.
-After letting a 14 point lead disappear yesterday, the one detail that had Coach Pat Shurmur most frustrated was “the 21 point swing in about 3 minutes.” Shurmur said “we can’t let a 3 minute period wreck our performance.”
-Shurmur told the media he had meet with formerly suspended cb Joe Haden early this morning. Shumur said he was glad to have him back and that he’s “gonna put him in the lineup.”
-Shurmur gave no updates on the players injured in yesterday’s game. Those injured where Dmitri Patterson, Ahtyba Rubin, and D’Qwell Jackson.
Patterson was in the locker-room today with a walking boot on his left foot and it sounds like he is dealing with an ankle injury. Rubin’s injury was announced as lower leg injury and Jackson has a concussion.
-Shurmur was not thrilled with his secondary play inside the red zone, he feels like they have to be better on that point of the field.
-When Shurmur was asked about Brandon Weeden’s aggressiveness, “There’s a fine line between being aggressive and knowing the football’s important.”
-Joe Haden was very apologetic about his 4 game suspension for taking adderall. He admitted that he took adderall and that it was a dumb mistake.
- Haden apologized to the organization, Browns fans, Haden Nation, as well as his teammates. He said he was in constant communication with his teammates.
-Haden confirmed that he is engaged and that he stayed in shape by going to Washington DC and working out with his dad at their work out facility. He said he did the same type of work that he would do to prepare for OTA’s.
He feels like he won’t miss a beat, but also said he will get some extra work in this week to make sure he is ready for the Bengals AJ Green.
