Here are some notes from a victory Monday here in Berea.

-Coach Shurmur: on Trent Richardson, he is fine; as he’s dealing with a right rib cartilage injury and that he is day to day.

-Shurmur: compared the growth period of Josh Gordon to his rookies from last season that didn’t have an off season because of the lock out. But he sees the light coming on for the young wide receiver.

-D’Qwell Jackson made a great point that we will all learn if the teams young roster truly has grown from the teams win over Cincinnati after they play Indy this week . -Jackson said that Coach Shurmur has always told them that he is proud of them but they still had to go out and make plays in the 4th quarter.

-Jackson agrees that this win will be huge for Brandon Weeden because of all the attention that comes to that position. And now he can prepare this week with a little less pressure.

-Jackson, Joe Haden came back and gave us a spark as did Josh Cribbs on special teams.

-Jackson this guy Haslam I think will be a change for the better. Randy wanted us to win; Haslam is around us, knows us and is a fan of the game and people.

-Brandon Weeden on the tip passes: as a qb it’s tough to throw around guys. I wish I could throw a curve ball around them but that won’t work. It’s a good play by them. I can’t let it bother me.

-Weeden: I’ve got confidence in all the guys around me. On him getting the ball spread around to 8 receivers yesterday.

-Shurmur: was extremely happy with what Montario Hardesty brought to the table on Sunday. He said” He was getting it, and hitting it up in there.”

-Shurmur: was truly impressed with how all three phases of the team came together in the team’s victory. He praised his young guys on the special teams, and also loves having Phil Dawson and Josh Cribbs.

-Shurmur: Cincinnati has a very good defensive front, but I thought for the most part the offensive line did a nice job pass blocking. We are getting better with the run blocking.

-Shurmur: thought that having Joe Haden back helped bring the synergy with his secondary. Buster Skrine led the team in tackles and Sheldon Brown had a pick 6.
