An eventful day here in Berea as Coach Shurmur talked about the teams win over the Steelers but also the health of his team. Then Mike Holmgren came down and said his final good bye. And that was followed by Browns CEO Joe Banner coming down to talk about Holmgren’s departure. Here are a few notes and video from all three guys today.

-Pat Shurmur was happy with his team’s ability to make enough plays against a tough opponent that knows how to win games. -Shurmur said that Brandon Weeden is doing fine, and that they will go through the process when dealing with concussions. He also said we will know more on Wednesday.

-Shurmur wouldn’t predict who will play quarterback this week against the Raiders as he wants to see how Weeden progresses. He felt like Weeden did some good things and there are some things he can clean up still.

-Shurmur said that prior to the contest with the Steelers to expect a physical game. And that’s real football, and I was proud of how they battled it out. “We played a physical team and finished.”

-When Shurmur was asked about Colt McCoy he said he’s got all the confidence in the world in Colt and expects that he will do a good job if he has to play.

-Holmgren made it clear that he wanted to say thank you and good bye to everyone here in Cleveland. When asked if he had any regrets he wouldn’t say yes but he did what he thought was best as his time went along here.

-Holmgren wouldn’t commit to what he will do next. Said that he will head west a take some time off and breathe for a minute.

-Joe Banner said that he respected Holmgren’s decision to leave and that he wasn’t asked to stay. He also said that Holmgren is free to do what he wants as he leaves here. So no restrictions on what he can do.

 -Banner said that he has been impressed with how hard the players and coaches have maintained to work. He said it'd be hard to not see how hard the guys are playing.

-Banner admitted that it was his idea to get rid of the white flag promotion, saying that the last thing they want to send out to people is the wrong message. It just made sense not to go along with that plan.
