(INDEPENDENCE) -- "We've already moved forward," Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott said.

The third-year coach was referring to Tuesday night's second preseason game in Canton against the Milwaukee Bucks when he elected to bench top pick Dion Waiters mid-game due to not following a play Scott had drawn up just minutes before.

Both Scott and Waiters addressed the media on Thursday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic Courts and said they have both moved on from the incident and look forward to the former Syracuse gaurd's continuous improvement.

Waiters' response to the benching on Thursday: "I definitely need that. I've got to be more focused on the game and in timeouts if he draws up a play, I need to be able to execute that right out of the play. It is something I've learned and I take full blame for that."

The Cavs practiced on Thursday in preparation for Friday night's third preseason game at the University of Illinois against the Chicago Bulls.
