Gatekeeper is Cedar Point's newest thrill ride - and it's a record-breaker!
The ride layout is specially designed for Cedar Point, featuring a track that dramatically flies above the main entrance of the park, passing over arriving guests with rolling flyover maneuvers – twice, sliding by buildings and narrowly slotting through new front gate portals for near miss excitement. Elements of the ride include:
- Wing Over Drop – once riders crest the top of the lift hill, the coaster train will rotate 180 degrees to the right, turning riders upside down before plummeting toward the ground at speeds of more than 65 mph!
- Immelmann – a maneuver where riders enter a half loop, go through a half twist and curve out in the opposite direction from which they came.
- Camelback – riders will fly over a giant, 105-foot-tall camelback hill that will be filled with “airtime!”
- Giant Flat Spin – a hair-raising 360-degree flip that will provide two different ride experiences for guests on each side of the train.
- Zero-G-Roll – a flying element that takes riders through two support towers that will dominate Cedar Point’s new Main Entrance.
- Inclined Dive Loop – a tight, 180-degree turnaround pushes riders through an overbanked turn and rockets them back towards the station.
- 360° In-Line-Roll – an element that will take riders extremely close to the new massive support towers while flying over guests entering the park below.
- Camelback Drop – a quick drop that will help propel the train and its guests through the rides final thrilling element, the spiral.
- Spiral – GateKeeper’s track rotates a wicked 360 degrees before bringing the coasters train back to the ride station.
The only thing missing is Mike Snyder.
A group of Texas cheerleaders are victorious over the "Freedom From Religion" Foundation - the group claimed that the display of Bible verses on football banners was offensive.
From FOX News:
The Kountze school district had initially said the banners could not be displayed after receiving a complaint about them in September from the Freedom From Religion Foundation. The foundation argued the banners violated the so-called First Amendment Establishment Clause that bars government -- or publicly funded school districts in this case -- from establishing or endorsing a religion.
Thomas ruled that the establishment clause does not prohibit the use of such religious-themed banners at school sporting events.
"This is a great victory for the cheerleaders and now they're going to be able to have their banners," said Hiram Sasser, a lead attorney for the Liberty Institute, a Plano, Texas-based nonprofit law firm that represented the cheerleaders.
What could go wrong? A whole lot could.

Looks like our "hero" Charles Ramsey has a rap sheet. Or does he? You do the investigation - the information is right there in front of you.
If that link does not work, click here and search CHARLES RAMSEY across the criminal court docket. REMEMBER, IT IS NOT CONFIRMED THAT THIS RAP SHEET IS THAT OF CHARLES RAMSEY. However, a simple investigative report can conclude that it is most likely his.
Does this mean Charles Ramsey is a former criminal? Maybe. Could he have been caught up in a string of bad luck? Probably. Is he dangerous now? Doubtful. Are you being fooled by what Rush calls the "drive-by" media? Most definitely.
This story stinks to me. Here's a guy who is now the toast of all media - TV, radio, even Howard Stern is hopping on this guy's bandwagon. My sources tell me that Ramsey appeared on a local TV station accompanied by an entourage of more than a dozen men, would not budge from the TV station's green room, and had to be escorted off of the station's property by police.
Now comes a piece from the Lakewood Observer, that tells the story of one Angel Cordero - who apparently had the muscle in the rescue:
Angel Cordero has lived directly across the street on Seymour for the past seven years. He is the brave young man who kicked in the door to save Amanda Berry.
He heard Amanda screaming through a small crack in the front door, "Help me, I'm Amanda Barry, I've been kidnapped for 10 years. Help me, he went out for food and he's coming right back, he's closed me inside for 10 years. Quick, quick, he's coming back, help me, I need the police."
Angel stated that he looked to see if the car was in the driveway, he was scared if the guy came back he could be killed.
Angel said there were chains on the door with locks that couldn't be opened, he asked if the guy was around, was told that he had just gone out, so he kicked it in. He yelled for Amanda to "Leave! Go!" Amanda and the baby girl came out. He said that Amanda was dirty and the daughter had no clothes on. Another neighbor, Charles, helped Amanda use their house phone to call 911. Angel held Amanda's daughter while she used the phone. He said she was nervous and shaking.
Angel said, "There was never any people coming or going. I see the guy every day for seven years. He no talk to anybody. The guy would pull through the big gate, close it behind him and go in through the back."
He said nobody ever heard anything.
Angel said it took about 2-3 minutes for police to come, they immediately went to the windows of the basement where the other girls were being held. According to Angel police said the basement was sound-proofed and the girls were in chains.
Hats off to Debra O'Bryan, publisher of the Lakewood Observer for that story.
Also, WEWS-TV is uncovering the truth about the rescue.
“I helped her and I was first,” Angel Cordero told NewsChannel5’s Stephanie Ramirez in Spanish.
On Monday, Ramsey, Cordero and other neighbors in a west side neighborhood of Cleveland helped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight escape. The women had disappeared in separate cases about a decade ago.
“Ramsey arrived after she was outside with the girl,” Cordero said. “But the truth who arrived there, who crossed the street, who came and broke the door, it was me.”

Meanwhile, global media outlets continue to make Charles Ramsey a star. What upsets me the most? The real story wasn't given at first because Angelo Cordero wasn't amusing enough for the simple-minded consumers of news media in the 21st century.
