Snickers was an early Christmas gift from my husband. He is 9-weeks old and we adopted him through the Lucky Paws rescue group. The group found him in an apartment building. I don't know how someone can just abandon an animal, but I'm grateful he is now part of my family.

I didn't know what to expect at first because I've never owned a cat. What I'm finding out is cats are really smart. There was no housebreaking like with a dog. I put the litter box down and he knew where to go. He also has a big personality. He likes to walk up your arm and sit on your shoulder like a parrot. He's loves to follow me around and snuggle. Snickers also likes to mess with our dog, Fidgets. It reminds me of Garfield and Odie. He'll hide in small spaces the dog can't fit into and when the dog comes close he gets whacked in the nose.

There are a lot of animals out there waiting to find a loving home. For animal lovers, I think adopting a pet is a great Christmas gift. The Animal Protective League has gift cards you can buy so the person receiving the gift can pick out their own friend. Just wrap up the card with a stuffed animal of a dog/cat and you're done.
Merry Christmas!!!
