A food drive for the Cleveland Foodbank

A donation gives you a chance to win Indians tickets.
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
(Cleveland)- Food and monetary donations are being collected Wednesday from 5am to 9am at Gateway Plaza near Progressive Field Gate A for the Cleveland Foodbank.

Our Mike Snyder will be there broadcasting live between 6am to 9am.

Karen Pozna of the Cleveland Foodbank says, you're encouraged to bring “super six” items: peanut butter, tuna fish, canned vegetables, canned soup, beef stew, and cereal. For every dollar donated, the Foodbank can provide enough food for four nutritious meals.

Those who donate will be given an entry for a drawing to win 2010 Cleveland Indians day or six pack game tickets.

With help from the area community and volunteers, the Cleveland Indians and Progressive Insurance generated an amazing total of nearly 110,000 meals during the Indians annual food drive in 2008

Since 1979 the Cleveland Foodbank has provided a valuable service to over 450 hunger programs in 6 different counties in the greater Cleveland area.
